Academic Technology Committee

Charge: The Academic Technology Committee shall investigate, review, and make recommendations on academic technology-related issues of concern to the faculty, including information technology systems, instructional technologies, and technologies supporting online and hybrid learning at UNCG. The committee shall study issues related to the development, delivery, assessment, and enhancement of online and distance learning courses and programs, and work to support the quality, effectiveness, accessibility, and sustainability of technology-mediated instruction. The committee shall review major academic technology initiatives, policies, and proposed changes advanced by Information Technology Services and other relevant administrative units and shall solicit and represent faculty input on academic technology needs and concerns. Finally, the committee shall forward its recommendations, as appropriate, to the Faculty Senate, the Provost, and the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology Services

Membership: One (1) voting General Faculty member elected from each electoral division, plus one (1) Senator appointed by the Chair of the Faculty Senate. Nonvoting: one representative each from Information Technology Services; University Teaching and Learning Commons; the Office of the Provost; the Office of the Registrar; Undergraduate Admissions; Finance and Administration; the Deans Council; the Staff Senate; and two (2) students appointed by the Student Government Association;
