The UNCG Faculty Senate voted overwhelming in support of a resolution that:

• Maintains local control in the selection of our own leaders.
• Continues the highly treasured academic tradition of vetting its members through peer review and selection.
• Avoid the potential loss of the highest quality chancellor, faculty, and student candidates who will not want to work in such an environment.
• Avoid the loss of top faculty who will not want to work in academic environments where their chancellor is in effect a political appointee.
